Each 100 gm contains:
Amprolium (as Hydrochloride) 25 gm
Ethopabate 0.8 gm
Martirolium Premix is an amprolium-ethopabate combination used for treatment of coccidiosis in chickens. It provides a synergistic effect , which is highly effective in the control of major coccidiosis causing E. spp in chickens ex (E.tenella , E.maxima , E.acervulina , E.brunetti , E.necatrix, E. mitis, E. praecox, E. hagani). Amprolium is an anticoccidial agent that acts as competitive inhibitor of thiamine in the parasite metabolism, and interferes with the metabolism of glucides necessaries for coccidian multiplication and survival. It exhibits high activity against E.tenella and E.acervulina. Ethopabate is a folic acid antagonists and It is a structural antagonists of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), which is a precursor of folic acid (The host does not synthesize folic acid and has no requirement for PABA) Ethopabate has anticoccidial activity specially against E.maxima and E.brunetti ; and the synergistic combination of amprolium hydrochloride and ethopabate is effective against E.necatrix.
For the treatment of coccidiosis in chickens (broilers –replacement) caused by E.tenella , E.maxima , E.acervulina , E.brunetti and E.necatrix.

• As with any anti parasiticide, frequent and repeated use of antiprotozoals from the same class may lead to the development of resistance.
• Continuous use of Amprolium is resulting into the development of drug resistance which is a major problem and limiting its use. It is rarely used alone because E. maxima and other species are resistant and therefore given in combination with other drugs.
Special precautions for use in animals:
• The product is intended for preventive use.
• Use as sole source of amprolium.
