Each 1 g contains:
Chlortetracycline (as hydrochloride) 50 mg
Sulfamethoxypyridazine (as sodium salt) 50 mg
Chlortetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline group. It works by inhibiting the protein synthesis of bacteria by binding reversibly to the 30S ribosomal fraction receptors. This leads to an inhibition of the binding of amino-acyl-tRNA to the ribosome S and thus to blocking the growth of the bacterial culture. Chlortetracycline has a predominantly bacteriostatic activity. This is exerted by a penetration of the substance into the bacterial cell by both passive and active diffusion. Chlortetracycline is primarily active against gram-positive and negative microorganisms, aerobic and anaerobic, as well as against Mycoplasma, Chlamidiae and Rickettsiae. Sulfamethoxypyridazine is a long acting sulphonamide with a very broad activity spectrum that also has anticoccidial properties. It is active against gram-positive and negative microorganisms and certain protozoa such as coccidia. Sulfamethoxypyridazine acts by blocking the biosynthesis of folic acid by inhibiting.
The incorporation of para-aminobenzoic acid into folic acid. Sulfamethoxypyridazine has a predominantly bacteriostatic activity. The spectrum of theoretical activity extends to both Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp, Listeria spp …) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Proteus, Enterobacter, Bordetella …) germs
