(Eq. to Tylosin base 100 gm.)
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae. It exerts its antimicrobial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis of susceptible micro-organisms.
The tylosin spectrum of activity includes Gram-positive bacteria, some Gram – negative bacteria such as Pasteurella spp., and Mycoplasma spp.
For the treatment of:
Broilers
Taken orally via feed
A-Respiratory infections: 127 mg tylosin / kg b.wt for 5 days.
B-Necrotic Enteritis: 10-20 mg tylosin / kg b.wt for 7 days.
A-Respiratory infections: 1270 mg of the product / kg b.wt.
B-Necrotic Enteritis: 100-200 mg of the product / kg b.wt.
• In the absence of compatibility studies, this veterinary medicinal product must not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.
• Lincosamides and aminoglycoside antibiotics antagonize the activity of tylosin.
• The sensitivity of bacteria to tylosin may have changed over time or geographically. It is sound clinical practice to base treatment on susceptibility testing
