Gallitylo

Martirolium
(WSP)
(For vet. Use only)
Composition :
Each 1 gm contains :
Sulphadiazine sodium ………………625 mg-
(eq.to sulphadiazine base 574.5 mg).
-Trimethoprim ……………..125 mg
Properties:
Potentiated sulphonamides sequentially inhibit enzymes in the folic acid pathway , thereby inhibiting bacterial thymidine synthesis . The sulfonamide blocks the conversion of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) to dihydrofolic acid (DFA) , and trimethoprim blocks the conversion of DFA to tetrahydrofolic acid by inhibiting dihydrofolate reductase . The potentiated sulphonamides have a fairly broad spectrum of activity . Gram positive bacteria that are generally susceptible include most Streptococci , many strains of Staphylococcus and Nocardia . Many gram negative organisms of the family Enterobacteriaceae are susceptible to the potentiated sulphonamides, but not Pseudomonas aeruginosa .Some protozoa (pneumocystis carinii , Coccidia and Toxoplasma ) are also inhibited by the combonation . Potentiated sulphonamides reportedly have little activity against most anaerobes.
Indications:
For the treatment of diseases sensitive to trimethoprim / sulfadiazine in chickens , in particular enteric and respiratory bacterial infections.
Target Species:
Broiler chickens
Dosage& administration:
Route : Orally via drinking water.
For active ingredient:
30 mg of combined active ingrediants / kg.b.wt.

42.86 gm of product / 1000 kg.b.wt.(4 gm/10 liter)or(0,5gm/liter) daily in drinking water , given in 2 equal doses up to 7 days.
Warnings & precautions:
- The intake of medicated water depends on the clinical condition of the animals. In order to obtain the correct dosage , the concentration of the active substances may have to be adjusted accordingly.
- To allow ready dissolution , dissolve the required amount of product in a few litres of water before addition to the header tank.
- Avoid any further dilution by securing the header tank ballcock until all the medicated water has been consumed . Once medicated water has been consumed , the ballcock can ba released and non-medicated water re-supplied.
- Any medicated water which is not consumed within 24 hours should be discarded.
