Each 1 gm contains:
Sulphadimidine sodium 330 mg
Diaverdine HCL 50 mg
Vitamin K3 20 mg
Sulphadimidine is a sulfonamide antibacterial agent. It competes with para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) for enzyme that synthesizes dihydrofolic acid in bacteria. It has broad spectrum of activity, including gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Cornebacterium pyogenes). Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp.,). Diaveridine is a pyrimidine derivative folic acid antagonist. It is active against the protozoan enzyme dihydrofolate reductase. It has synergistic activity with sulfonamides & often is used in mixtures with these compounds. Vitamin K is necessary for the synthesis of blood clotting factors in the liver.
