Each 100 ml contains:
Spectinomycin (As Spectinomycin DihydroChloride Pentahydrate ) 5 gm
Spectinomycin is primarily a bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. Spectinomycin has activity against a wide variety of gram positive and gram negative bacteria, including E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Enterobacter, Salmonella, Streptococci, Staphylococcus and Mycoplasma.
Pigs (piglets)
For the treatment of enteritis caused by strains of Escherichia coli sensitive to spectinomycin in piglets.
Sheep ( Lambs)
For the prevention of bacterial neonatal disease (e.g. watery mouth disease) caused by strains of Escherichia coli in lambs which are at risk of colostrums deprivation.
Pigs (piglets)
Sheep ( Lambs)
Lambs: by mouth, 50 mg once only as soon as possible after birth
Piglets: by mouth, (<4.5 kg body-weight) 50 mg twice daily; (4.5–7 kg body-weight) 100 mg twice daily
Lambs: 1 ml. once only as soon as possible after birth
Piglets: (<4.5 kg body-weight) 1 ml. twice daily, (4.5–7.0 kg bodyweight) 2 ml. twice daily For 3-5 days
Use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of the bacteria isolated from the animal. If this is not possible, therapy should be based on local (regional, farm level) epidemiological information about susceptibility of the target bacteria.
Appears to have minimal adverse effects at labeled dosage ;probably less nephrotoxicity/ototoxicity than other aminocyclltols , can cause neutromuscular blockade
Lambs, piglets: slaughter 10 days
Do not store above 25ºC. Store in a dry place. Protect from light.
The product will remain stable in the finished feed or vitamin/mineral premixes for 3 months.
100, 250, 500 and 1000 ml. Plastic bottles.
