Each 100 ml contains:
Nitroxynil 34 gm (as Eglumine), Clorsulon 6.7 gm, Ivermectin 0.67 gm
Mectonilmart contains (Ivermectin, Clorsulon, Nitroxynil)
Ivermectin is Ivermectin is a broad-spectrum endectocide of the avermectin family.
Ivermectin is a macrocyclic-lactone derivative which has a broad and potent anti parasitic activity against nematodes and arthropods.
Ivermectin acts by inhibiting nerve impulses which binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate-gated chloride-ion channels which occur in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells. This leads to an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions with hyper polarization of the nerve or muscle cell, resulting in paralysis and death of the relevant parasites. Compounds of this class may also interact with other ligand-gated chloride channels, such as those gated by the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). The margin of safety for compounds of this class is attributable to the fact that mammals do not have glutamate-gated chloride channels. The macrocyclic lactones have a low affinity for other mammalian ligand-gated chloride channels and they do not readily cross the blood-brain barrier.
Clorsulon is a compound of A benzenesulfonamide family which is recommended for treatment and control of adult forms of Fasciola hepatica & Fasciola gigantic (Liver fluke) in cattle
Clorsulon inhibits glycolytic enzymes of Fasciola hepatica (3-phosphoglycerate kinase and phosphoglyceromutase). This enzymatic inhibition effectively blocks the Embden-Myerhof glycolytic pathway and thereby deprives the fluke of its main source of metabolic energy.
Nitroxynil is a halogenated phenol which is effective against Fasciola hepatica with some activity against gastrointestinal nematodes (Haemonchus contortus). Its mode of action is as an uncoupler of oxidative phosphorylation.
Mectonilmart when used as recommended dose level of
(2 mg Clorsulon/kg b.w., 0.2 mg ivermectin/kg bw, and
10.2 mg nitroxynil/kg bw) it is effective against sensitive strains of the internal and external parasites.
