Composition :
Each 1 gm contains:
Spectinomycin Dihydrochloride pentahydrate 445.33mg ( Eq.to Spectinomycin base 300mg )
Properties:
Spectinomycin is a bacteriostatic antibiotic from aminocyclitol group. It acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, to be fixed on the 30 S ribosomal subunit. Disturbs the ordering of messenger RNA and causes misreading of the genetic code for transfer RNA .
It is active against Gram negative bacteria (Salmonella spp, Escherichia coli, Pasteurella multocida) and against Mycoplasma spp,.
After oral administration is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract , and reaches peak concentrations in blood 1 hour.
Indications:
It is used for treatment of:
Salmonellosis : Caused by Salmonella spp.;
CRD : Caused by Mycoplasma spp.,
Colibacillosis : Caused by Escherichia coli.,
Target Species:
Poultry (Broilers- Turkey pullets)
Route of Administration:
Taken orally via drinking water.
Dose for whole product:
1.75 gm of product /liter of drinking water daily for 2-5 days
Warnings and precautions:
- Antagonism has been reported when Spectinomycin is used with chloramphenicolor tetracycline.
- Once the drug dissolved in the drinking water, the period of validity of the Reconstituted is 24 hours.
Contra-indications
- Do not administer to birds with a history of hypersensitivity to spectinomycin .
- Do not administer to other species than those indicated.
- Do not use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption
Adverse effects:
- May cause fever, diarrhea and slight urticaria .
- No specific information was located on oral overdoses, but because the drug is negligibly absorbed after oral administration, significant toxicity is unlikely via this route.
Withdrawal periods:
Poultry (Broilers – Turkey pullets): Meat: 5days.
Storage condition:
Store in a dry place at temperature not exceeding 300 C, and used immediately after opening and used within 24 hours after reconstitution when stored at temperature not exceeding 300 C

White ( HDPE ) plastic jars contain ( LDPE) bag of 20,25, 30,50, 75,100, 150 , 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 1000 gm of W.S.P with white ( HDPE ) plastic cap With an outer label without Insert.
