Composition :

Each 100 ml contains:

Spectinomycin  (As Spectinomycin Dihydrochloride Pentahydrate )  5 gm

Properties:

Spectinomycin is primarily a bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. Spectinomycin has activity against a wide variety of gram positive and gram negative bacteria, including E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Enterobacter, Salmonella, Streptococci, Staphylococcus and Mycoplasma.

Indications:

Pigs  (Piglets)

For the treatment of enteritis caused by strains of Escherichia coli sensitive to spectinomycin in piglets.

Sheep (Neonatal Lambs)

For the prevention of bacterial neonatal disease (e.g. watery mouth disease) caused by strains of Escherichia coli in lambs which are at risk of colostrums deprivation.

Target Species:

Pigs  (Piglets)

Sheep ( Neonatal  Lambs)

Dose for whole product:

Pigs  (Piglets) : (<4.5 kg body-weight) 1 ml. twice daily, (4.5–7.0 kg bodyweight) 2 ml. twice daily for 3-5 days.

Sheep ( Neonatal  Lambs) : 1 ml. once only as soon as possible after birth

Warnings and precautions:

• Use of the product should be based on susceptibility testing of the bacteria isolated from the animal. If this is not possible, therapy should be based on local (regional, farm level) epidemiological information about susceptibility of the target bacteria.Not to be used in newborn Pet Animals

Contra-indications:

Known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.

Do not use in pigs over 4 weeks of age or over 7 kg bodyweight.

Use with caution in animals suffering from renal damage

Adverse effects:

Appears to have minimal adverse effects at labeled dosage ;probably less nephrotoxicity/ototoxicity than other aminocyclltols , can cause neutromuscular blockade

Withdrawal periods:

Pigs  (Piglets) , Sheep ( Neonatal  Lambs) : slaughter 10 days

Storage condition:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C

Packaging:

Opaque white (HDPE) plastic bottle containing  25,50,75,100, 150,200,250,300,500 and  1000 ml  of Solution lined with red (HDPE) plastic film closed by white (HDPE) plastic cap with white (LDPE) plastic foam liner with an outer Label
