Each 1ml contains:
Sulfadimethoxine Sodium 200 mg (Eq,to Sulfadimethoxine base 186.7mg).
Trimethoprim 40 mg.
Sulfadimethoxine is long acting and broad spectrum sulfonamide , which also exhibits anticoccidial properties. It is active against Gram-positive bacteria as Staphylocococcus aureus, Streptocococcus agalactiae and Gram-negative bacteria as Escherichia coli, Salmonella and protozoa such as coccidia.
Trimethoprim belongs to the family of diaminopyrimidines. It is active against Streptococci and most Gram-negative bacteria asEscherichia coli, Salmonella spp and Klebsiella spp,.,)
The combination of these two active ingredients allows a sequential blocking of biosynthesis of folic acid. These two substances act sequentially on the route of synthesis of tetrahydrofolic acid. Sulfadimethoxine inhibiting incorporation of para-aminobenzoic acid in the folic acid, trimethoprim by specifically inhibiting microbial dehydrofolate reductase enzyme. The combination extend their spectrum of activity against both Gram- positive bacteria as Staphylococcus and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp, Proteus, Enterobacter spp ,and Bordtella
It is used for treatment of:
Fowl cholera caused by : Pasteurella multocida.
Poultry (broiler chicken)
Taken orally via drinking water.
18.68 to 37.36 mg of sulfadimethoxine and 4-8 mg of trimethoprim per kg of body weight per day for 5 consecutive days.
1 to 2 ml per 10 kg bodyweight per day for 5 consecutive days.
Adverse reactions to sulfonamides may be due to hypersensitivity or direct toxic effects. Possible hypersensitivity reactions include urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, skin rashes, drug fever, polyarthritis, hemolytic anemia, and agranulocytosis .
Poultry (broiler chicken):

Eggs: in the absence of a waiting time for the eggs do not use in laying birds producing eggs for human consumption (4 weeks before the start of lay and during it).
Keep in temperature not exceeding 30°C, away from moisture.
Plastic bottles : 100, 250, 500 ml & 1 Liter .
