Dimetridazole 400 gm

Properties:

Dimetridazole is a nitromidazole which have both antiprotozoal and antibacterial activity,
whereas dimetridazole control histomoniasis in poultry.it has shown mutagenic activity in all the bacterial tests carried out. However, it has been proved that this activity was linked to the enzyme activity of the nitroreductases of the bacteria used in the tests. Dimetridazole did not show any mutagenic activity in any of the numerous other tests carried out. It was inferred that dimetridazole was not a genotoxic compound.It undergoes reduction in bacteria where it is metabolized to cytotoxic derivatives that bind to DNA, causing loss of the helical structure, strand breakage, and impairment of DNA function. It is active against obligate anaerobic bacteria.

Indications:

It is used for treatment of:
• Breeder game birds(not used for human consumption ):
Black head caused by Histomonas meleagridis in game birds.
• Breeder caged birds (not used for human consumption ):
Canker caused by Trichomonas gallinae.

Target Species:

Breeder game birds (not used for human consumption ).
Breeder caged birds (not used for human consumption ).

Dosage & route of administration:

Route of administration Orally in drinking water.
For Whole product:
• Breeder caged birds (not used for human consumption ):
0.625gm of product /1 liter drinking water per day for 3-7 days.
• Breeder Game birds(not used for human consumption ):
Provide the medication for 12 days,1.25 gm of product / 1 liter drinking water, day for the first 3-6 days and then 0.625 gm of product /1 liter drinking water for the balance of 12 days.

Contra-indication:

• Do not use in chicken layer hens and cockerels, turkey layer hens and toms, broiler chickens and grower (meat) turkeys.
• Do not use in pigeons, caged birds and game birds intended for human consumption.
• Do not use this product to treat any animal species, or category of animals, not included in the dosage and administration section.
• Do not supply this product except in original. Un opened packaging.
Drug-drug interaction:
• Do not mix with another anti blackhead product.

None known.

Withdrawal Period:

• Do not use in chicken layer hens and cockereis , turkey layer hens and toms ,broiler chickens and grower (meat)turkeys.
• Do not use in pigeons ,caged birds and game birds intended for human consumption.
• Do not use this product to treat any animal species ,or category of animals ,not included in the dosage and administration section.
Shelf life:
• 2 Years.

Storage conditions:

• Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C in dry place, Used immediately after opening and Reconstitution.
