Composition :
Each 1000 gm contains:
Tylosin 150gm + chlortetracycline hydrochloride 125 gm
Properties:
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae. It exerts its antimicrobial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis of susceptible micro-organisms. The tylosin spectrum of activity includes amongst Gram-positive bacteria, some Gram-negative strains such as Pasteurella spp and Mycoplasma spp
Indications:
- For the treatment of pneumonia mycoplasma and / or Pasteurella diseases complicating the virus diseases of the respiratory and digestive system.
- Enzootic pneumonia caused by Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus spp., Enterococchispp., Corynebacterium spp., Listeria monocytogenes, pneumococci spp., Staphylococcus spp ., Streptococcus spp.), Gram-negative bacteria (Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella spp., Haemophylus spp., Lawsonia intracellularis, Neissariae spp., Pasteurella spp.),
Target Species:
Dairy calves.
Route of Administration:
Orally via drinking water.
Dose for active ingredient:
30 mg of tylosin / kg of body weight and 25 mg chlortetracycline / kg of body weight). for 3-5 days.
Dose for whole product:
20 g of product per 100 kg live weight
Warnings and precautions:
- Use of the product should be based on test sensitivity ‘against bacteria isolated from animals treated.
- The absorption of the antibiotic may ‘be reduced in conjunction with the administration of other products rich in calcium and magnesium.
Contra-indications
- Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
- Do not use the product simultaneously with other macrolides or lincosamides.
- Do not use if known tylosin resistance or cross-resistance to other macrolides.
- Do not use in animals with liver dysfunction or who have kidney failure.
Adverse effects:
None reported.
Withdrawal periods:
Meat, offal: 24 days.
Storage condition:
- Store at temperature below 30 C.
- Store in the original container in order to protect from light.
