Composition:

Each 100 gm contains:

Zoalene         25 gm

Properties:

 Zoalene is nitrobenzamide anticoccidial agent. It acts primarily on the first- generation schizonts & it inhibits sporulation of oocysts. It is coccidiostatic if given for 6 days but is coccidiocidal if given for longer periods. Its activity is coccidiostatic against the early merozoites but prolonged treatment is reputed to induce coccidiocidal  effects. It is still sometimes used for finishing off & for treating birds during periods of  low exposure risk to coccidia. It has moderate to good activity against chicken coccidia.

Indications:

•  Broiler chickens :Prevention and control of ceacal & intestinal coccidiosis caused by E. tenella, E.necatrix,E.acervulina, E.brunetti,E.maxima,E.mitis.
• Turkeys: Prevention and control of ceacal & intestinal coccidiosis caused by E. meleagrimitis , E. adenoids ,
  E. gallopavonis and E. meleagridis , E. dispersa

Dosage & route of administration:

Taken orally via feed
For whole product:
Broiler chickens: 500 gm of product / tonne feed Feed medicated with zoalene should be fed continuously as the sole ration from the time chicks are placed in floor pens until they are slaughtered for meat.
Turkeys: 750 gm of product / tonne feed. Feed medicated with zoalene should be fed continuously until the birds are 8 weeks of age, and when local conditions warrant, may be fed up to 14 weeks of age.

Warnings and Precautions:

• It is suggested that a mixture of product& some feed ingredients be prepared prior to mixing in with the finished ration. This will insure thorough & even distribution in the feed.
• Consult a veterinarian or poultry pathologist if losses exceed 0.5% in a two-day period.
• Avoid inhaling dust.
• Avoid contact with eyes.

Contra-indication:

• Not to be fed to laying birds.
• Concurrent nitrofurans.

Withdrawal Period:

• Chicken: Zero days
• Not authorized for laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.

Storage conditions:

Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C, in dry place, Used immediately after opening.
