Composition:
Each 1gm contains:
Lincomycin ( as HCl ) 110 mg
Properties:
Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic produced by Streptomyces lincolensis. Lincomycin is bacteriostatic in action inhibiting the protein synthesis predominately by binding to the 50 S ribosomal subunits of bacteria. It is active against a wide range of Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococci, Streptococci, β- haemolytic Streptococci, Corynebacteriua, Erysipelothrix spp. & anaerobic bacteria such as Clostridia, Bacteroides spp., Brachyspira spp., as well as Leptospira spp. & Mycoplasma spp. Lincomycin has no activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as Klebsiella spp., Pasteurella spp. & Salmonella spp.
Indications:
For the treatment of:
-Broiler: Necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens.
-Swine: Swine dysentery caused by Brachyspira hyodysenteriae.
Mycoplasmal pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae.
Porcine proliferative enteropathy (ileitis) caused by Lawsonia intracellularis.
Target Species:
Broiler chickens and Swine.
Dosage & route of administration:
Taken orally via feed
1) Broiler: 18.18gm of the product / tonne feed..feed as sole ration.
2) Swine:
-Swine dysentery: 500 gm of the product /tonne complete feed.
As sole ration for three weeks or until clinical signs of disease disappear.
-Mycoplasmal pneumonia: 1kg of the product/tonne complete feed.
As sole ration for three weeks or until clinical signs of disease disappear.
-Porcine proliferative enteropathy (ileitis): 1 kg of the product/tonne complete feed.
As sole ration for three weeks.
Contra-indication:
-Do not use in case of liver dysfunction
-Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipient.
-Do not use in horses, ruminants, rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters.
-Do not use if resistance to lincosamides has been detected.
Side effects:
Lincomycin may occasionally cause transient soft stools and/or mild swelling of the anus within the first two days of treatment.
These conditions are usually self-correcting within 5-8 days without discontinuing
lincomycin treatment.
Withdrawal Period(s):
Swine: Meat and offal: 5 days.
Broilers: Zero days.
Storage conditions:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, in dry place , used immediately after opening and mixing with feed .
