Flumequine 100 mg
Properties:
Flumequine is an antibacterial agent with bactericidal activity, belonging to the fluoroquinolone group. It acts on DNA, blocking replication by inhibiting the A subunit of the bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme, an enzyme involved in DNA helix formation.
It has a narrow spectrum of activity that primarily covers Gram-negative bacteria, mainly Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Klebsiella, Vibrio, Aeromonas, and Yersinia.
It is also active against some Gram-positive species, such as Staphylococcus pyogenes and Streptococcus.
Indications:
It is used for treatment of:
•Poultry (broilers): Infections caused by Pasteurella multocida and E. coli.
•Cattle (pre-ruminant calves): Infections caused by Pasteurella multocida, E. coli and Salmonella spp.
Target Species:
Poultry (broilers) and Cattle (pre-ruminant calves).
Dosage & route of administration:
Route of administration:
•Administration in drinking water
For whole product:
• Poultry (broilers): 1.8 ml of Product/1 Liter of drinking water/day for 5 days.
• Cattle (pre-ruminants calves): the total duration of treatment is 5 days starting with a first dose of 1.2 ml of product /10 kg b.w., The first dose must be followed by 9 administrations of 0.6 ml of Product /10 kg bw/12 hours
Withdrawal Periods:
• Meat: Broiler chickens: 2 days.
• Not permitted for use in laying hens whose eggs are intended for human consumption
• Calves (pre-ruminants): 6 days
Contra-indications:
• Do not use in animals with renal or hepatic impairment..
Drug-drug interaction:
• Do not use in combination with trimethoprim or theophylline.
The active substance interacts with divalent and trivalent cations.
Storage:
•Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C .
Packaging:
White (HDPE) plastic bottle contains 50-100-150-250-500 & 1000 ml of product and closed by (HDPE) white plastic cap with induction seal (contain 3 layer from inside to outside : plastic film-aluminum film-carton)
